National Action Plan For Senior Citizens(NAPSrC)

The main objective of the Scheme is to improve the quality of life of the Senior Citizens by providing basic amenities like shelter, food, medical care and entertainment opportunities and by encouraging productive and active ageing.Old Age Home is located in Nallur,Karur district for 25 Senior Citizens supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment,Govt of India.It takes care of the senior citizens by providing all basic amenities with recreational facilities,Yoga and medical doctor visit.Adequate quantity, good quality, variety in food stuff (as per local conditions) containing an average of 1700 calories and 50 grams protein to be provided to the beneficiaries, everyday.Regular Health Camps are being organized by implementing agencies in coordination with the District Administration.Devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, dentures, spectacles, crutches, walkers, etc.are provided to the beneficiaries of the Projects of the Scheme, under RASHTRIYA VAYOSHRI YOJANA (RVY).The campus is secured with CCTV cameras for security purposes with garden so as to provide relaxation to the beneficiaries by involving in gardening etc.
